LALF: When Baby Boo’s away, Mama will Sleep.

17 Jun

Your not going to believe me.

But I haven’t had this little one with me since Wednesday night…

My mom and dad have her and are beyond excited to spoil her with toys and love.

You could call it a birthday present, or you could say that Mama, after one to many sleepless nights from a teether, has now become a walking zombie..

Since I have had no Baby Boo, at first I just kinda sat there and cried..haha I just am so used to having her around, I didn’t know what to do with myself.

Then, after my full first night of sleep, I realized that I really needed this time to sleep, having me time, and sleep.

Oh and spend time with this lover boy πŸ™‚

Don’t mind our sweaty-ness.

We had just gotten back from a 2 mile run UP.A.HILL.

Whenever I exercise with my hubby, he always pushes me past my comfort level.

Like to the point of throwing up.

This..Makes me Love him/ Hate him.

More so love him because for my birthday, Hubby and Baby Boo woke me up to a Green Smoothie.

I was shocked because it was the most delicious Green Smoothie I have ever had. APPARENTLY it had milk, rainbow chard, spinach, strawberries, peaches, and banana..

I still don’t believe him.

I think there was a little love in there too.

Then we met my parents at an Indian Food restaurant.

Everyone was kind of skeptical, but It was MY day, and they were gonna eat what I wanted. πŸ™‚

I enjoyed an assortment of goodness,

Along with one to many bites of delicious Naan Bread,

Hubby was a little bit nervous, but he fell in love instantly.

Then we said our goodbyes to Baby Boo and my family.

I may or may not have shed a tear..

But I know Baby Boo is in good hands.

Now I am sitting here at 9 in the morning, just woke up, snuggled in a blankey, and sipping my Green Smoothie..

And I may or may not have eaten chocolate this morning too..

Maybe I’ll go get a pedicure, or take a bath, or read some magazines, or bake…

Happy Friday and Happy Weekend Bloggy Friends!! Don’t forget to indulge today πŸ™‚

Pumkpin Chai Chia Pudding with Cinnamon Raspberry “Ice Cream”

7 Jun

Glass is half empty..Not half full..

When it rains..It freaking pours.

Not just raining on my parade, but snowing, windy, tornado-ing on my freaking parade.

Blah Blah Blah ain’t gonna happen unless a Fat Lady is singing her great big heart out..

I’m a drama queen.

Laugh all you want, but if there is a scratch on my shin you bet your little hiney I’m wining to my Mama telling her how I will never ever ever be able to wear shorts again, and most likely should never leave the house until that scratch is gone.

Is that a true story?

I dunno, I’m kind of an exaggerator too.

So you see, yesterday I set out to bake brownies. ME of all people should be able to bake brownies.

But then, I got a littleΒ crazy and started throwing in random ingredients that most brownies don’t have,(but, I think should) and the end result came out okay…

BUT Hot Dang All Mighty they sure didn’t taste like a brownie.

So of coarse I cried, not over spilled milk, but cruddy brownies, and swore to everyone who could hear me that I would never ever ever cook again…

Unless a fat lady was singing.

And as I dramatized the whole scenario for my Hubby when he got home, he in no way humored my dramatic rant and instead told me ,”Honey, why don’t you try and look at the positive things in life..instead of all the negatives.”

Why are husbands always right??

(SHH DO NOT tell him I said that.)

How can I sit here and complain about poopy brownies, when I am so incredibly blessed to have the things that I have?

Slap again.

SO I quickly gathered what pride was left of me, and told my Hubby in return for is words of genius-ness I was going to make him the best afternoon snack he had ever had.

Fat lady singing or not…

Coconut Vanilla Chai Milkshake

2 Jun

A lot of people ask me what I do during the day as a stay at home mom.

For starters, I appreciate you asking me and not my husband, because according to him I’m relaxing.. πŸ™‚

Which is funny because this morning at 530 a.m., I spent a good 30 minutes washing a Baby from an unpleasant diaper change, all the while Mr. Know It All is snuggled up cozy in a warm bed snoozing away…

And I don’t know if you heard that first part..

530 a.m.

Β For a while Baby Boo woke up a little after seven, but then decided that there just needed to be more time in the day to play, so recently it’s been 530.

I guess 530 wouldn’t be so bad, if I went to bed at a decent time and didn’t stay up to watch Monday’s episode of the bachelorette. (Any one else find the cellular phone salesman a little QT) Don’t worry, my husband doesn’t mind, he’s sleeping.

It’s been somewhat of a struggle for me to switch from Ari mode to Mom mode, and things that amuse me, really don’t amuse Baby Boo. (She’s not all that into Cell Phone Guy..)

But somehow we manage, and some days I look at the clock and say, it’s ONLY 11! And other days Hubby comes home and I’m still in my PJ’s, Baby Boo is nakie, and I am far from what you would call Pleasant smelling.

On the other hand, this little one masked any smell that may have come her way with a sweet scent of cinnamon.

The Cinnamon Challenge was so 6 months ago for Baby Boo.

She clearly finds joy eating it straight out of the Bottle.

Don’t even try and take it away from her.

You will pay the price.

Roughly 5 bucks, because that’s how much it’s gonna cost to buy more cinnamon once it’s spilled all over the floor in a tantrum rage to retrieve it back.

Luckily for me I had used the cinnamon for my breakfast prior to the Ms. Cinnabuns craving.

Coconut Vanilla Chai Milkshake

Inspired by the Amazing/Talented/Beautiful Mama Pea: Coconut ChaiΒ

1/2 C. Coconut Milk

1 frozen Banana

6 Coconut Milk ice cubs

1 tsp. Ginger

1 tsp. Cinnamon

1/2 tsp. Nutmeg

1/2 tsp. Pumpkin Spice (or Allspice)

1 TB Vanilla

Blend all ingredients in a blender until creamy. Reduce milk for a creamier shake, and add milk for a less thick shake.

Thank you Mama Pea for your inspiration.

Best. Drink.Hands. Down.

But then..As they always do..Things got a little crazy.

Since I was making this for breakfast I decided I needed a little bit of Greeeeennsss…

Coconut Vanilla Chai Green Drink Milkshake

I’m sorry.

31 May

Yesterday was a BeAuTiFuL Day!

I hope everybody had a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend. I am so grateful for this country we live in and for those who have served/are serving allowing us to enjoy the blessings of our free country.

This weekend we took time to smell the roses, and others took time to eat them..

We enjoyed the outdoors and played in the grass,

And then wished we hadn’t because grass makes you itchy..

We sipped fresh sqeezed juices that made us dream of summer,

Fresh Summer Green Juice

1 large cup watermelon

1 large cucumber

2 gala apples

1/2 inch ginger piece

2-4 stalks swiss chard (preference-more if desired)

And then every morning I found joy in making Green Smoothies for willing family members we were visiting,

Pumpkiny Green Smoothie

1. C. Non Dairy Milk

1/3 C. Pumpkin Puree

1 tsp. Vanilla

2 C. Spinach

2 Dates

3 TB Oats

2 TB Chia Seeds

1 Frozen Banana

1 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice (or combo of cinnamon and nutmeg)

I even got a little creative and added frozen carrots…

Carrot Green Smoothie

1 C. Non Dairy Milk

2 C. Spinach

3 TB oats

2 Dates

1 Frozen Banana

1/3 C. Frozen Carrots

1/3 C. Pumpkin Puree

1 tsp. Vanilla

2 TB Walnuts

1/2 tsp. Cinnamon

1/4 tsp. Nutmeg

Things may have gotten even a little out of hand when I made No Bake Energy Cookies with SwIsS ChArD in them…

But crazy is ok with me, because we couldn’t get enough of these cookies.

I even tried baking them and they turned out better than I imagined!

These cookies were so tasty and delicious, yet I am debating whether or not to post the recipe.

(Do people really want Swiss Chard Energy Cookies??)

And last but not least Baby Boo got a Pink Car from G-ma and G-pa…

(I’m a little against the whole car thing, but as long as it’s pink…. πŸ™‚ jk jk)

Everyone is a little nervous she is going to turn out to be a driver like her Mama…

For the most part, I would say things are looking up?

Wouldn’t you?

New Beginning-Detox

18 May

About a month before Baby Boo was born, I quite my job. I knew that I wanted to be a stay at home Mom, so there was no need for me to continue working. My plan was to take that time off and get ready for my new Baby, as well as rest as much as possible, because I knew I would have lack their of in the coming future. (Little did I know a lack their off would continue ten months later.)

Before I knew it I was bored. I had folded and refolded new born onesies, read more than enough about what to expect when the baby was born, and I wasn’t even getting any sleep since Baby Boo found the right side of my rib cage the most comfortable position.

I called my mom complaining, saying how much I wished Baby Boo would get here just so I could have something to do.

My mom told me to enjoy my time, because I would

I laughed.

‘haha Mom what do you know??’

Ten months later…

My mom knows everything.

I have complained before about the lack of showers, lack of sleep, lack of clean house, lack of sleep, lack of cut clothes, lack of sleep..

So you obviously know I am no longer bored.

Tired..Not bored.

And although I wouldn’t have my life any other way, time flies, and before you know it your way behind in laundry, haven’t had a solid workout in a while, and your food is less than stellar..

So that is why I decided it was time for a..

New Beginning

Sometimes we just need to rejuvenate and refresh ourselves, all the while, starting over.

I need to repair my self and strengthen my mentality, my spirituality, my physicality, my emotions(lord knows I have many), and my overall health and wellness.

I re-evaluated and re-adjusted some of my goals, and I am ready to move forward and make myself a better Ari πŸ™‚

Today I am going to talk about Goal Number 1:

Personal Detox/Cleanse

The reason I say ‘personal’ is because I have adapted this detox plans to fit my own personal needs that are best for me and my body. If you are considering a Detox, talk with a doctor, and weigh out all your options. Remember, I am not a doctor.. πŸ™‚

  • Why A Personal Detox/Cleanse: It’s not just the overload of Sugar that has encountered my life in the past few days, but I have also recently felt bloated and crampy. I always eat well, but I feel it’s best to give my digestive system, as well as my whole body a good clean out, and a break. There is a great website that talks about the benefits of a Detox, Alaina Rose shared this with me and you can check it out HERE.
  • What’s the Plan: The plan for me is to stay away from Dairy, Meat, Gluten/Wheat, refined sugars, processed foods, and soy. Oh and Chocolate. (Tear). Most of these will be pretty easy to stay away from, but what I have noticed the most difficult to be is Wheat, Chocolate, and Soy.
  • How is it coming? :Β I didn’t realize how much my diet often consisted of carbs and…chocolate, until now. I am so happy I am doing this, because it’s helping me realize what I have been putting in my body, even when I thought I was doing a great job.
  • What have you been eating: Delicious.Delicious.Food. I am here to say that you can eat yummy clean food, all the while not sacrificing hunger and taste.
To start of I have had a fresh squeezed juice every day.
Sweet Blackberries Juice
3 carrots, 1 cucumber, 2 apples, 1/2 cup blackberries

Fresh squeezed juice can be kind of scary, but this one I feel would be GREAT for Newbies!
Newbies like Baby Boo..
She loved it! She kept wanting more..Little juice hog!
There also has been PLENTY of Green Smoothies πŸ™‚
I cannot live a day with out one..
Chocolate Covered Berry Smoothie
1 cup rice milk
2 cups spinach (or greens of choice)
1/4 frozen raspberries
1/4 cup frozen Blackberries
1 frozen banana
chocolate protein powder(raw/vegan)
2 TB chia seeds

P.S. My favorite Protein Powder to date:
Β Thank you to Liz who sent me these samples, I am in LA LA LOVE!
Want another Green Smoothie?
PB & Blueberry Green Smoothie
1 cup rice milk
2 cups spinach
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 tsp. Peanut Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 tsp. Xanthan Gum
2 TB Chia Seeds

This one taste like a PB & Jelly Sandwhich crossed with Blueberry muffin!
For snacks I have stuck with alot of fruits and raw veggies, but every once in a while I’ll crave something a little different.
Rice cake with a little bit of PB and homemade sugarless jelly!
Sugar-less Jelly?
How do you do that??
Quick Homemade Sugar Free Jam
1/4 cup raspberries
1 TB Chia Seeds
Mash together…and spread!
*If you want something a little sweeter like Jelly, feel free to add a little of agave/maple syrup.*

For main meals such as dinner and lunches, I try my best to include lots of veggies, protein sources from lentils and nuts and seeds, and a little bit of Gluten Free Carbs.
A salad I enjoyed today was a Kale Salad.
Kale can be somewhat scary, but I promise you it’s not. Kale is known to help aid in the detoxification process πŸ™‚ It also has tons of nutrients, antioxidants, aids in digestion, and tons of vitamins.
Lemony Kale Salad
2 cups Kale
Juice from 1/2 Lemon
1 tsp. Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper
Massage ingredients into kale until coated. Top with desired salad toppings. I did:

*Goat cheese would be YUM YUM on this salad as well..Or some lemony chicken…Or Both!*
I have also been roasting a bunch of veggies to have on hand when needed.
I have even cooked up some brown rice, lentils and beans, and quinoa to throw in salads, wraps, and soups.
Like this salad, which is a bed of spinach, italian spiced quinoa, and roasted veggies!
I topped it with THIS sauce, but instead of using the pepper the recipe called for, I replaced it with sweet corn.
I loved it!! Sweet, yet Savory!
(P.S. Ashley From the Edible Perspective has great sources and recipes for doing a Detox! Definitely check her out!)
Hubby and Baby Boo even got in on the action.
Hubby’s dinner:
Spinach, Quinoa, Veggies, and Chicken.
Baby Boo’s:
Quinoa and Roasted Sweet Potato.
Happy Healthy Family πŸ™‚
For now at least πŸ™‚ Hubby made me make him homemade Mac N’ Cheese tonight to make up for his abundance of veggies last night…
I’ll get him someday πŸ™‚
As for now I’ll continue to sneak hidden healthy tid bits in his food every so often…Kind of like what you do with 5 year olds..
Probably the hardest part of this whole detox has been the lack of sweets. It’s not like I pig out on sweets every day, but I always grab a bite of dark chocolate here and there to satisfy my craving..
I was beginning to worry I wasn’t going to be able to do it for two weeks..
That was until I created this little angel…
Gluten Free.
No Sugar.
No Dairy.
Detox Friendly.
And taste like chocolate..
πŸ™‚ Me Likey…
Recipe coming soon! πŸ™‚ Have a great week!
*I am not a doctor. If you are considering a cleanse please consult a Doctor to establish the best choices for YOU personally :)*

Skinny Minny Carrot Cake Milkshakes

6 May

When I found out I was pregnant, right away I started preparing for a girl, even before I knew the gender.

I believed, in my little head, that my precious little fetus was going to come into this world wearing a crown, tutu, and baby high heels.

Call me excentric, but I am 150% girly, and I have high hopes for Baby Boo.

My Hubby on the other hand has different dreams.

He ‘believes’ our daughter is going to be the first girl to ever play in the NFL. This is not a joke my friends, because I so wish it was. I try and put my husbands “dreams,” or as I like to call them ‘imaginations’, in the back of my mind, but he insist that 20+ years from now we will all have matching Jersey’s with the name Boo on the back, as we cheer for our little quarter back…

I really think he just wants Season Tickets, and he will go to any measure to get them..

As much as I would love and support my daughter in whatever career she chose (besides a few minor ones…), I think it really stems down to the fact that I definitely couldn’t handle another person throwing and bouncing balls around this household..

You get the idea.

Let’s top that off with this precious chickpea who has so gracefully discovered her voice..

And by gracefully, I mean the complete opposite, because screaming is far from grace.

And at the end of the day, after the noises have gone to sleep, I find it MOST crucial to reward myself in a little Mama Treat.

Milkshakes cure everything..Especially when they don’t make your butt bigger πŸ™‚

Skinny Minny Carrot Cake Milkshake

1 banana

6 frozen hemp milk ice cubes

2 TB hemp milk

1 large slice Whole Grain Carrot Cake Bread

Blend all ingredients into blender until creamy

Remember this amazing bread from the bridal shower I threw this weekend…

Who knew it could get even better…

With each bite, the noises of bouncing balls and shrills from Baby Boo seemed to get quieter and quieter.

Then by the end everything was silent.

But it was too silent for me…

And that’s when I realized that Bonks on walls from my studdly Hubby and happy screams from my sweet angel are nothing less than my favorite noises in the world..

Because with out them, it would be all to quiet..

That is unless Baby Boo started to say words like Hike, and Punt, and 22..47..68..

I don’t think even Milkshakes would be able to solve my problem.

Bridal Showers and Giveaway Winner!

2 May

There are certain words in our vocabulary that have opposites.

For example…

Smelly and Not Smelly

Happy and Not Happy

Tired and Not Tired

Martha Stewart and Not Martha Stewart.

OK, so maybe I struggle when it comes to the correct antonyms, (p.s. I just had to look that word up), but if there was a correct word for the opposite of Martha Stewart it would be Ari.

Doubt all you want but I have your pretty little selves fooled with my Cupcakes and my pretty pictures. Looks can be deceiving, and behind my camera lens photographing an oh so pretty Glass filled with blended greens, is a mom wearing grey sweats.

Grey sweats are the no no of all sweats..Not too mention my bright yellow gym shirt and unshaved underarms to go along with the oh so not flattering grey sweats. Grey Sweats that were not purchased at Victoria’s either.

And although these sweats should be kept secret, they are far too worn through out my daily activities. Like trips to the grocery store. Luckily for me people look at my cute Baby Boo, and ignore Β that I may in fact be a homeless person walking around with an adorable baby…

But that is besides the point.

What I am trying to get at here is that I am nowhere near good ol’ Martha, but I can sure pretend to be. That’s why I was super excited to throw a Bridal Shower for one of my good friends this weekend. First party I have ever thrown. (Wow-looser?)

Let’s just say I definitely cute-sified it for sure πŸ™‚

There were flowers and butterflies everywhere. This shower had to be 100% girly…No if’s and or Booty’s.

And I wasn’t about to skimp on food either, especially since I knew I wasn’t feeding my husband, and I had to do more than frozen tacquitos.

Fizzy Lemon Drink

4 large bottles sparkling water-lemon flavored

1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

1/2 cup honey/agave

sugar, lemon zest

In a saucepan heat fresh squeezed lemon juice and honey until honey becomes melted. Remove from heat and pour into a separate bowl and let cool. Once ready to serve drinks, mix honey and lemon mixture with bottles of sparkling water. Take classes and run a lemon around the edge and dip in sugar and lemon zest.

We also had chips and guacamole, which I think is a must have at every party…Probably because I can’t contain my self when it comes to those little triangles of goodness..and that green mush..DELISH!

For the guacamole recipe, I used the one I ALWAYS use from The Pioneer Women.

Guacamole Recipe Here

I also had a Whole Grain Vegan Carrot Cake Loaf

The most MOIST loaf cake I have ever had. No Butter. No eggs. No Big Booty.

And I wish I could take credit for the recipe, but I can’t. It is too amazing. All credit goes to the amazing Angela from OhSheGlows.

You can find that amazing recipe HERE, and thank her, and I, later πŸ™‚

For our main entrΓ©e we had a Curry Chicken Salad which I definitely plan to re-create using healthier ingredients. But my husband tried it, as well as the guest and said it was delicious!

For the Curry Chicken Salad recipe, you can find it HERE.

(Notice I don’t have alot of pictures of the food…Well I felt weird taking a bunch of pictures with everyone there. haha. “Umm Ari, why are you taking a picture of those rolls?”

We also had a salad, which I made, meaning basically threw a bunch of delicious things in a bowl and called it good.

Here is what was in it: Baby Greens, Black Berries, Pears, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Goat Cheese, Pecans, and a vinegar dressing.

Then dessert consisted of the following;

Cake Pops for the guest to take home.

Oreo Cake Pops to be exact. My husband ate about 75 of these. He said they were ok… πŸ™‚

And then behold…

You wouldn’t guess it, but there are avocados in the top portion.

Kind of Reminds me of a certain food I once ate.

Whole Wheat and natural Ingredients. So if Your going to indulge, this is a perfect way to do so.

And again, I can’t take credit for this.

Flippen Angela and her AMAZING talent πŸ™‚

For the Vegan Chilled Double Chocolate Torte Recipe go HERE.

Overall we had a fun time. We did the usual make the wedding dress out of TP, and other silly games which every body secretly loves to play.

Mini flower Bouquet our of TP?! Genius!!

And along with everything else, I found time to even get a little crafty.

Want to know what you can do with an empty bottle of canola oil??

Simply Wrap that ‘brown yarn stuff'(what is it called lol) while hot glueing every so often, and eventually you will get a vase!

Cute? πŸ™‚

Cherry Chocolate Milkshake

7 Apr

Dear Calories,

I used to fear you.

I used to cry when I found out your amount on my favorite chocolate cake.

I used to check you often, like a jealous girlfriend…And everytime, you seemed to disappoint. I knew you could never be trusted.

Calories. Your shady. You pretend to be something your not.

You say your so little, but then I check with your friends sugar and fat, and well, they’ve made up for your “little” size alright, and hiding what “half” the calories really means.

So decietful.

You jerk.

Oh Calories.

Just when I think you are doing my body good..

You are really doing it OH.SO.WRONG.

You say that the smaller the size you are the better for me, when in reality, your a lying backstabbing no good sun of a biscuit.

No nutrition, just pure sugar, and bad fats, and lard.

Oh wait, but your only 120 calories..

Then I guess it’s worth it right?

Is it worth checking every box, calculating every number, crying over nothing to eat on the menu besides a dressing-less salad?

Is it worth the limits, and the nasty food, and the small bags of packaged oreos.

BUT it’s ONLY 100 Calories!

Oh calories…

I want you to know I am leaving you. I find it pointless to check you and watch you like a hawk. You drive me crazy, and I don’t know why I would do that to my self.

I will no longer eat something because of your size, but I will eat food based of it’s nutrition, and it’s benefits for my body. And don’t try and convince me that it’s healthy for me to eat a certain amount of calories per meal, and that a 300 calorie frozen meal is good for me.

Because it’s NOT.

You see, I am sorry calories, but a 300 calorie frozen meal will not satisfy. I will be starving 20 minutes later, thus consuming more of you. I won’t be getting the nutrition that I need when I am depriving myself from healthy fats, good carbs, and much needed protein.

I know that I don’t want to count on you the rest of my life. Because I hate diets. I am all for a lifestyle.

And I am sick and tired of asking for the nutritional information at a restaurant.

I’m not stupid.

I know what is in macaroni and cheese, and I most definitely know what is in that chocolate cake.

pure deliciousness πŸ™‚

I know that if I eat a salad with a nuts or avocado, tons of veggies, and fresh dressing, that I am most likely consuming more calories than a piece of rice cake topped with a tomato.

But instead of 100 calories, I’ll get the fats, proteins, carbs, & nutrients that my body needs.

So calories,

We are no longer dating in a very unhealthy relationship.

We are now friends.

Best friends.

Even though I think you are a rotten dirty tramp sometimes.

You see calories, I am no longer afraid of your numbers. I know who you are and I know all about you. I know your secrets and I know how you trick.

And I will no longer count you because, well, I hate math.

You will no longer be my Chris Brown, and I will no longer be your Rhianna. You can’t beat me up, and bring me down.

From now on I don’t want to know anything about you. I respect who you are, and I’ll leave it at that.

Good bye

Peace out.

So Fresh N So Fabulous

Somebody I live with thinks they are the greatest thing since baby wipe warmers.

I am most positive she believes she is all that and a bag o’ cheerios.

And not to mention, you give her some stunna’ shades, and she suddenly thinks she is mature enough to shake her head no…

What I won’t tell her is that those “stunna’ shades” aren’t so stunna’ when she reaches middle school..

She’s going to have to learn the hard way like her mama.

As for now, she continues to think she’s on some sort of tropical vacation, and her parents are her waiters..

Bring me A Ginga’ Juice!

Make it Fresh!

Ginga’ Juice

2 Carrots

1 cup Fresh Cantelope

1 Cup Fresh Pineapple

1 inch piece ginger

And while she sips on her Ginga’ Juice in a sippy cup she will want entertainment.

(P.S. I really drank this..not Baby Boo :])

But the pressure is high. A shake of the head means your done!

Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle Twinkle don’t make her giggle, they just piss her off now.

It could have to do with the entertainment’s voice.

(But deep down in side, the entertainer knows she has a voice like an angel!)

And after her disappointment from lack of talent, she will want food.

Solid food.

Something to hold her over.

But trust me folks. She won’t want something pureed in a jar. She will want it fresh and homemade.

Something like, Fresh ‘Pasghetti’ Sauce

Fresh Roasted Tomato Basil Sauce

8 medium Tomatoes

1 large sweet onion (chopped)

6-7 cloves of garlic

1 TB Olive Oil

1 TB Balsamic Vinegar

1 tsp. Salt

1 tsp. Pepper

10 Large Basil Leaves

1 (heaping) tsp. dried rosemary

1 (heaping) tsp. parsley

(tomato paste-optional-I didn’t use though)

1. Preheat oven to 350. Cut tomatoes in half and place in medium bowl. Add in diced onion and whole cloves of garlic. Drizzle with EVOO and Balsamic Vinegar, and S & P. Mix until everything is coated. Take a prepared baking sheet (covered with either foil or baking mat) and spread mixture onto pan. Bake in oven for about 35-40 minutes.

2. Once done, let cool and gather other ingredients. In a blender add roasted vegetables and the rest of your ingredients. Blend until somewhat chunky or desired consistency. Adjust spices to liking.

3. If preparing other food, you can let sit in a pot over low heat until ready, to let the flavors come together. If you add tomato paste, this will make it thicker. I didn’t do this, but you are more than welcome to. You will have to adjust spices accordingly.

Then the once cocky Baby Boo will become humble again, because once she taste this ‘Pasghetti’, she will realize, she isn’t the only one who is So Fresh N’ So Fabulous.

First Bite, and she will be a changed woman.

That is until her mama comes around and tells Baby Boo she is the bestest most amazing, adorable, loving, fun, talented, and smartest baby there is in the whole wide world!..

And in return Baby Boo will look at her mama and say,

“Give me Baba…Make is Fresh!”
