Oh if we lived in a world of Greens and Pinks…

13 Jun

I love pink.

I love pink paint, pink toenails, pink ruffle bottoms for babies, pink clothes, pink makeup, pink household items, pink decorations, pink parties, pink glittler..

And pink food.

I am starting to notice a trend..

Pink Macaroons

Pink-ish Chai Chia Pudding

Ok, so it’s more purple..but whatev.

Pink Beet Hummus on Lunch Wraps

Pink Ingredients in Smoothies, Like this Chocolate Covered Berry Green Drink,

or this Cherry Chocolate Milk Shake.

Then there is Pink Wedding Cupcakes

Β Pink Parfaits

And Pink Baby Boo’s

My husband calls me crazy, especially when I asked him If I could spray paint this beat up side table that we found at a garage sale for 3 dollars…

Pink.

He drew the line.

So I finally decided on a color Β that we both agreed on..

It went from ugly beat up brown to this…

And then to this,

Lovely Lively Green.

It’s so vibrant, so fresh, so..ME??

Could Green Be the New Pink??

Green Muffins

Green Chai Milkshake

Fresh Squeezed Green Juice

Green Soup

Green Pancakes

Green Veggie Sammy

Green S’mores

Green Kale Chips

Are you overloaded??

And then..

For breakfast this morning I had A Green Fruit Bowl…

Disgusting looking yes?

Delicious tasting..

Of coarse..

Green Covered Fruit Bowl

Slightly Adapted from : The Kind Diet

Ingredients: (Fruit)

2 C. Mixture of Seasonal Fruit of Choice (I used strawberries, peaches, mangos, and blackberries

1/4 cup cereal (Recipe called for Kamut, but I didn’t have it, so I used a blueberry crunch cereal that we had)

2 TB. Coconut

Ingredients for the Green Dressing:

1 tsp. Spirulina

1 1/2 TB Non Dairy Milk

2 tsp. Peanut Butter

1 TB Orange Juice (I didn’t have so I used Mango Juice)

1-2 TB Pure Maple Syrup

Directions:

1. Add fruit and cereal in a bowl and set aside.

2. Mix dressing ingredients together until smooth/creamy. It shouldn’t be super thick or super liquidy.

3. Pour dressing over fruit, cereal and coconut and stir until everything is coated.

4. Enjoy The Green!

This has got to be my favorite thing besides Green Drinks…

Seriously?

Am I feeling okay??

Could GREEN be the new PINK??

Don’t Cry Baby Boo, Mama was just making a joke…

I think?

Ahhh, I love that pout! So cute! After I had my daughter it was like I was obsessed with pink and I’ve never really liked pink that much. But I do like green on that table. I need to pick up more things like that, I love how they look. That fruit bowl looks good but I’ve never had spirulina so I have no idea what it would be like. With all that fruit though, how can you go wrong? Yum πŸ™‚

    • ThE DiVa DiSh June 14, 2011 at 2:45 pm #

haha having girls can do that to you πŸ™‚
And spirulina has an interesting taste on it’s own, but this recipe has PB and Maple in it, so you can’t even tell!

Oh my goodness…Baby Boo’s little pouty face is just too much! All your pink and green recipes look amazing. And your green covered fruit bowl is SO pretty! Something that pretty just has to taste good! I’m sure it was wonderful. I’m inspired to try something like that now. Thanks, as always, for the inspiration! ❀

    • ThE DiVa DiSh June 14, 2011 at 2:22 pm #

I like what you did with the furniture! A little makeover now and again never hurts.

I always turn to pink – it’s my fave color. It just makes me happy. πŸ™‚ Even the word “Pink”. I love Victoria’s Secret for that reason πŸ™‚

My wedding colors were pink and green. I think your green table would look absolutely stunning with something pink on top. Maybe an assortment of flowers in pink, green, and cream? Ah – pretty.

    • ThE DiVa DiSh June 14, 2011 at 6:40 pm #

You are the smartest girl in the world!! I might just do that πŸ™‚

  13. LizAshlee June 14, 2011 at 7:28 pm #

What a fun post! I love when I can add green to any dish I make…it’s just makes it more vibrant! πŸ™‚ I haven’t tried pink so this might be my new challenge. Beautiful photos of Baby Boo! You two are TOO cute!

Where do you buy spirulina/what brand? Powder form I am assuming?

    Have a lovely day!

  14. vegan aphrodite June 14, 2011 at 7:29 pm #

Your posts always makes me smile so much πŸ™‚ I have the Kind Diet, and I have always wanted to make the Crocodil Crunch, but Im too afraid the spirulina will make the fruit taste like crap:( I always drink my spirulina superfast, and wash it down with a lot of water πŸ˜›

  15. Jenny @ Fitness Health and Food June 15, 2011 at 2:13 am #

Don’t cry baby boo! ohh that little lip! 😦

I love the look of that salad! I drink my sunwarrior supergreens every day but have never thought of using it as dressing for a fruit salad. mm mm! πŸ™‚

I’m not girlie at all but I do love me some pink πŸ˜‰
